Land in India's vibrant capital and settle into your heritage hotel. Ease into the city with an evening walk through Connaught Place, a welcome dinner, and a briefing from your expert guide on the journey ahead.
Begin in Old Delhi — rickshaw through the spice markets of Chandni Chowk, marvel at Jama Masjid and the Mughal grandeur of Red Fort. After lunch, drive to Agra (approx. 3.5 hrs). Arrive for a sunset viewing of the Taj Mahal's silhouette from Mehtab Bagh across the Yamuna.
Rise before dawn for the Taj Mahal at sunrise — the most iconic moment on the entire circuit. Watch the marble shift from pink to gold to brilliant white as the light changes. Afternoons bring Agra Fort and Itmad-ud-Daulah — the Baby Taj — followed by an evening of Mughal-era cuisine.
En route to Jaipur, stop at Fatehpur Sikri — the ghost city Akbar built and abandoned. Wander the perfectly preserved sandstone palace complex, Buland Darwaza and Jama Masjid before continuing across the desert landscape to the Pink City.
A full day in Jaipur. Ride an elephant up to Amber Fort, explore the City Palace and its museum of royal artefacts, photograph the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), and browse the vibrant bazaars for gems, block-print textiles and blue pottery. End with sundowners at a rooftop terrace overlooking the old city.
A leisurely final morning — perhaps one last chai at a local café, a visit to a Jaipur gem workshop, or simply time to absorb the rose-coloured city at your own pace. Transfer to Jaipur airport or Delhi by road (approx. 5 hrs) for onward travel. The Golden Triangle completes its circuit.
